Alliance Curran Volunteer Brunch
Ida , Dianne and Isabel attended the Alliance Curran Volunteer Brunch. This was to say "thank you " for the help from Pendleton United Church at their Hallowe'en and Christmas celebrations.
A 90th Birthday Celebration
Phyllis Reid celebrated her 90th birthday with relatives and friends after Sunday service at Pendleton United Church. Wendy Taylor, Phyllis's niece and her great niece Kayla, surprised her by arriving from Windsor.( 1108) Phyllis was also surprised by her step son Bradley and his partner Pam. Lunch is important at every celebration. Mabel, our church Chair was the certificate presenter and cake cutter. After lunch and visiting Phyllis had a few moments to enjoy her certificates and many cards.

Paintings for Retirement Residence
Pendleton United Church continues to work in the community. Shown in the picture is Phyllis Reid, a member of Pendleton United Church who completed two paintings to brighten the lives of people in Bridlewood Retirement Residence.
Hate Has No Home Here
On Sunday at Pendleton United Church , Valerie Allen dedicated our Hate Has No Home Here sign in front yard of the church. This sign will address divisiveness and inequality. This colourful sign features six flags held by six hands in six different skin tones. Included is the bright sign is the orange Every Child Matters flag, representing the Canadian children who perished in residential schools. Also included is the Black Lives Matter flag, a blue flag representing the rights
of the disabled, another multi-hued flag showcasing the LGBTQ community, a white flag highlighting religious freedom and of great importance the flag that represents the country we are so proud of - Canada.
Shown are Valerie Allen ( left ) who gave the closing words to mention how pulling the community together will provide love to all and Dianne Seguin ( right ), our Genesis Rep who was instrumental in obtaining the sign.
Helen Lalonde, a long time runner, completed a 10
kilometer run on the Prescott - Russell Recreational Trail, to raise funds
for Kenya Education Endowment Fund ( KEEF ). These funds will help provide education in Kenya.
Helen, a retired educator, has always realized the importance of education and feels all all children , in all countries, need a solid learning
foundation.
Helen is an active member of Pendleton United Church.
